The Order of the Bull (often referred to as The Grand Order of the Bull) is the highest order of chivalry in the Dominion of Carolusburg and the lowest order of merit in the Commonwealth, and as such is considered an order of merit rather than an order of chivalry. The Order is represented by a red and white striped sash among its recipients is a series of Calf, Bull, and Grand Bulls who are sworn in by His Royal Majesty the King of Carolusburg together with His Excellency the Governor-General. As such, recipients are not knights.

Organization[edit | edit source]

The Order is divided into three levels, these being from the lowest to the highest - Calf, Bull and Grand Bull. All new members of the Order are classified as Calves, and upon being a Calf for 5 months, they are promoted to the rank of Bull. And to reach the rank of Grand Bull it is necessary to be a loyal member of the order for 1 year.

Appointment[edit | edit source]

Appointments are at the discretion of the Sovereign and the Governor-General, and are usually in recognition of a national contribution, for public service, or for personal service to the Dominion. Membership of the order is limited to the Sovereign, the Prince of Carodia and Aurea, and no more than 16 inductees, four of which may be Honorary Foreign Members, given to foreign members or monarchs. Members must be legal Carodian citizens. To be named a member of the Order of the Bull, it is necessary that you meet several requirements and that these are sufficiently recognized by His Royal Majesty, the King of Carolusburg and by His Excellency, the Governor-General of Carolusburg:

  • Do considerable and extraordinary good to the Dominion of Carolusburg, in either civil or military service;
  • Obtained one or more military or civil decorations in their service to the Dominion, with exceptions given to Honorary Foreign Members;
  • Have the explicit approval of His Majesty the King or His Excellency the Governor-General, and in the case of appointments to the Order via Parliament, majority support in the House
  • To be a faithful and devout Stefanist,
  • And to swear the Sacred Oath in a ceremony

In addition, the Order of the Bull brings several advantages to its members and recipients. Some of these advantages include:

  • The right to the suffix OB (eg. Commodore John Doe, OB)
  • Acceleration of promotions in the Imperial Navy or Royal Militia, and increased likelihood of civil appointments,
  • And increased likelihood to be bestowed a noble title.
