The Assembly of Peers is a collection of nobles, specifically, Princes, Dukes, Earls, Viscounts, Barons and Knights, who form the Upper House of Imperial Parliament. They are responsible for passing or rejecting legislation that the House of Commons proposes. The Assembly can introduce its own legislation, within areas of power such as the House of Commons, and does not need to obtain the approval of the House of Commons, but must pass its own legislation unanimously. The Assembly of Peers also has the important role of voting on legislation that has been introduced by the House of Commons, thus passing it or not.
