Philip I Vasa-Nassau (birth: Jafar al-Assad) is the former King of Reuss. He reigned from 15 November 2020 until his abdication on 6 January 2021.

History

Philip joined the New Sarovian Empire in 2017 and served as an enlisted soldier until 2018. In June 2019, Philip returned to Sarovia and served as an enlisted soldier for a month. In December 2019, Philip returned again and served as a corporal for a week before being commissioned as a colonel in the Sarovian Imperial Army on 26 December 2019. He served on Field Marshal Wilhelm's army staff until taking command of the 1st Regiment in March 2020 during the reign of Empress Brianna. With Field Marshal Wilhelm, Philip aided Empress Brianna in reforming the I Corps of Sarovia.

From March to May, Philip served in the war against a coalition opposing Sarovia as the colonel of the 1st Regiment. At the start of the war, Philip fought in the Mod town against Imperian and Oxerian forces. He was knighted on 14 March 2020 right after the first few battles of the war for his military service. He fought in the war until the end right before King George abdicated.

After Edward II's ascension to the Sarovian throne, Philip was promoted to FIeld Marshal of the I Corps. He oversaw the I Corps during Edward II's early reign, during Sarovia's transition to the Commonwealth of Reuss, and at the end of Edward II's reign. After Edward II's abdication, Philip became one of two candidates for the Reussian throne and ascended the throne after being selected to be King of Reuss.

During his reign, King Philip and King Jacob allowed Emperor Constantine IX to restore the New Sarovian Empire. The Kingdom of Reuss became a constituent kingdom of the New Sarovian Empire. He served as General of the I Corps during Sarovia's reconquest. He abdicated on 6 January 2021.
