Prime Minister
The Prime Minister of New Sarovia (Portuguese: primeiro ministro de Sarovia) is the first minister of the Crown. The Prime Minister acts as the head of government for the New Sarovian Empire chairs and selects the Cabinet. He/she advises the Crown on the day to day of the Imperial Parliament and holds semi-executive power over New Sarovia, with the permission of His Imperial Majesty the Emperor. As the Prime Minister holds his office by virtue of their ability to control the House of Commons, they are the leader of the largest party in the House of Commons, though do not need to hold a seat themselves.
Currently, Michael Marchwood is the 8th head of government in New Sarovia, though only the sixth to hold the title of Prime Minister. He took office on the 15th of April, when the Caps Party won the majority of seats and was invited to form government by Constantine IX Vasa-Nassau.
Sarovian Prime Ministers gain plenty of perks, such as the right to the post nominals PC, the style The Right Honourable for the remainder of their time in Sarovia, and each Privy Counsellor has the right of personal access to the Crown. Peers were considered to enjoy this right individually; members of the House of Commons possess the right collectively. In each case, personal access may only be used to tender advice on public affairs.
The Prime Minister recommends to Imperial Parliament and the monarch appointments to the Supreme Court of New Sarovia, federal courts, his Cabinet, and more. Under the Constitution Act of 2020, government power is vested in the monarch but shared with the Prime Minister.
