In all of Sarovian history, only 14 men and women were given official commissions as a Field Marshal, excluding two disputed holders of the office, and excluding honorary appointments. If those numbers are included, the total rises to 18. A Sarovian Field Marshal is given the right to wear a unique uniform, including a special Field Marshal’s baton as a symbol of office, a retirement gift of 3,500 Saros upon retirement, the right to marshal batons in their heraldry, the post nominal “FM” and more. The first holder of the office Marshal Sarolus, the namesake of Sarovia, and second in command to [[Carolus X, John II and Tsubaki the Mad|Carolus X Zor]]. The first modern holder however was the 1st Duke of Poltava, Sevirax Vasa in 2017, great great grandfather to the current Lieutenant-General of the Guards.
